Easy Apple Crumble Dessert Recipe

Too lazy to bake something fancy? Opt this fuss-free dessert - easy apple crumble.

No need to pay exorbitant amounts for this simple dessert outside when you can fix up one in a jiffy at home. All you need is apples - green or red or a mix, flour, brown sugar and butter. Cinnamon would be great add-on but if you don't have it, omit it - you will still get results.

You can prepare this dessert before hand and pop it into the oven only when you want to serve it, i.e. after dinner. In the indulgent mood? Serve it with ice-cream.

Ingredients

For apple filling
2 apples (I used 1 green, 1 red)
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Sugar to taste (optional, I did not add any)

For crumble topping
135g cake flour
50g brown sugar
75g unsalted butter
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Method
1. Dice and core apples into small cubes, 1x1cm. Sprinkle 1/2tsp of cinnamon and mix evenly into apples. Place in baking dish.

2. Rub flour, sugar, butter and cinnamon till bread-crumb like texture forms. Spread evenly over apples.

3. Bake in pre-heated oven at 180 degrees for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.

Tips
Adjust amounts till ideal for your pan. I used a ceramic gratin dish from Diaso which is about 12cm in diameter, 1cm deep. To estimate, use sufficient apples to cover the base of the dish. For the crumble topping, adjust proportions accordingly.
